Neurodiversity

Suzann is a Neurodiverse woman who was Neurotypical the first 29 years of her life before her brain surgery, radiation and chemotherapy

 What is Neurodiversity?

Neurodiverse and Neurotypical refer to how the neurological structure of our brains function in relation to how human brains typically function. The truth is all brains fall somewhere on the spectrum between neurodiverse and neurotypical. The term Neurodiversity is a term that embraces the reality that non typically functioning brains bring a diversity to communities that needs to be embraced more and ostracized less.

Embrace the journey.

Both prior to and after her brain injury Suzann has extensive experience working with neurodiverse children, teens and adults from those with Autism, Aspbergers, or OCD to those born with different brains due to fetal alcohol exposure or other brain injuries.

With every encounter she learned something from each individual that allowed her to see new ways to approach leading and engaging others. Through her own journey, with part of her brain gone and other parts damaged from the radiation and chemo, Suzann had to learn ways ro build new neural pathways.

Those are lessons that help teach every individual she works with new ways to think and work together with others that allow people to approach life in more effective ways. Whether neurotypical or neurodiverse, Suzann knows every person has something to teach her, and that she has a new perspective to offer them as well.
